How a HIP clean runs

The crew brief — upgrade-specific.

Same dry-first sequence as post-renovation: dust is removed before any water touches it.

Dry sweep + vacuum first

HEPA vacuum on all hard surfaces, tracks, skirting and cabinet kicks before any wet work.

Wet wipe-down + descale

Top-down on walls, fittings and new toilet tiles. Tracks and grilles wet-wiped.

Floor scrub + final walkthrough

Machine scrub, full mop, then a surface-by-surface check before sign-off.

Fixed price, no add-ons

Full scope quoted up front in 5 minutes. Nothing added at the door.

Scope & timing
Is HIP cleaning the same as post-renovation cleaning?
Effectively yes. HDB Home Improvement Programme upgrading leaves the same fine cement and tile dust a renovation does. We use the same dry-first method and scope — tracks, skirting, cabinet interiors, new toilet tiles and fittings.
When should I book after the HIP works finish?
Once the contractor has signed off and removed their tools and debris, and any wet works (tiling, waterproofing) are cured — typically 24–48 hours after the last wet job.
Do you remove the contractor's debris?
No — rubble removal is the HIP contractor's job. We start from a debris-cleared unit and handle the dust and residue layer.
Should I add formaldehyde treatment?
Only if new carpentry or paint was installed during the upgrade. For toilet/pipe-only HIP works it's usually not needed. More on formaldehyde ›
