Why post-reno is briefed differently

Cement-dust zones a regular crew misses.

Three jobs hidden behind the finishings. We brief the crew specifically for them.

Cement dust in aircon trunking and vents
Cement-dust hidden zones

Vents, trunking, hinges, skirting.

Contractor cleanup means visible debris removed. Cement dust sits inside aircon trunking, behind door hinges, under skirting boards. Our crew opens vents and grilles, vacuums trunking, wipes the structural hidden zones.

Paint splatter on door frames
Paint splatter cleanup

Door frames, glass, fixtures.

Splatters end up on door frames, light switches, sliding-door tracks. Razor-scrape on glass, solvent-wipe on metal, dry-vac on tracks.

Silicone offcuts hidden in joints
Silicone offcuts

Counter joints, shower edges.

Offcuts hide under skirting and inside cabinet bottoms. We pull, clear, and re-finish silicone seams that didn’t bond properly.

Scope & timing
My contractor cleaned up — do I still need post-renovation cleaning?
Yes, almost always. Contractor “cleanup” usually means visible debris removed. Cement dust gets into aircon trunking, behind hinges, under skirting. Paint splatters on door frames. We brief the crew specifically for post-reno hidden zones.
What’s formaldehyde (VOC) removal and do I need it?
Formaldehyde is a VOC released by new furniture, paint, adhesives and renovation materials. If you’ve just renovated or moved into a new unit and notice eye irritation, headaches or the “new furniture” smell — yes, you likely need it. We use a Japanese-system treatment (photocatalyst plus activated carbon).
When in the reno timeline should I book?
Book the post-reno deep clean after handover from your contractor but before move-in. If you’re adding formaldehyde removal, our crew can do both in one visit. Painting touch-ups go in the same booking.
Can I bundle painting, cleaning and regrouting in one visit?
Yes. This is the most efficient way to use OCD. List every job in the form — we quote the bundle as one fixed price, one crew, one schedule.
How long after the clean is the unit safe for kids and pets?
Cleaning alone — same day. After formaldehyde treatment, we recommend 4–6 hours of ventilation before sensitive occupants return. Painting cure varies by product; we tell you in the quote.
Do you handle tile regrouting and resilicon together?
Yes — commonly booked together. Regrout removes old grout and reapplies; resilicon strips out and re-applies silicone at kitchen counter joints, shower screens and basin edges. One visit if both are in scope.
