Vinyl is softer than tile and more moisture-sensitive than parquet. Wrong chemical strips the wear layer. Wrong mop saturates the seams. We pick by floor type.

Low-speed scrubber
Soft pad, no abrasive.
Deep cleans use a low-speed scrubber with a soft white or red pad. Never an abrasive disc, never high-speed buffing — those strip the wear layer.
Damp not wet
Seams stay sealed.
Vinyl plank seams swell if water gets in. Microfibre damp-mop technique keeps moisture on the surface, not in the joints.
Scuffs
Black marks spot-treated.
Black scuffs from shoes or furniture sliders come off with vinyl-safe solvent on a soft cloth. No melamine sponge — it dulls the surface print.

Vinyl specifics
Why can't I just use the same mop and cleaner I use for tile?
Tile cleaners are usually alkaline — great for grout, bad for vinyl. Repeated use strips the protective wear layer, dulls the print, and shortens the floor's lifespan. Vinyl needs a pH-neutral cleaner. Same with oily wood polishes — they leave a residue that traps dirt.
Can you bring back the shine on dull vinyl?
Partly. A deep clean removes built-up dirt and residue, which restores most of the original finish. If your vinyl is the type that takes a polish or sealer, we can apply one to restore gloss. If the wear layer is worn through (high-traffic zones, visible print fade), shine cannot be brought back — that's plank replacement territory.
Will the cleaning fix scratches and gouges?
No — scratches and gouges are physical damage to the wear layer or the print itself. Cleaning makes them less visible by removing dirt that highlights them, but cannot fill them. Significant damage is a plank-replacement job.
How often should I deep clean vinyl?
Maintenance clean every 3–6 months for a busy household, every 6–12 months for a quiet one. Full machine deep clean every 12–18 months. Pre-CNY is a popular timing.
Is the floor walkable straight after?
Yes, within 30 minutes. We use damp-mop technique so the floor isn't soaked — it air-dries quickly. If we apply a polish or sealer, allow 2–4 hours before furniture goes back.
Do I need to clear furniture before the crew comes?
No — we lift and move furniture (never drag — drag marks ruin vinyl) and clean underneath. Large items like beds and heavy wardrobes stay put; we clean around them.
